Default Incorrect quantizing in MIDI Editor (SOLVED)

Hello.

Quantized notes and cc data are consistently positioned slightly to the left (earlier) of the grid position.

Oddly, the early part of these notes can be selected with the mouse when left-clicked on, but cannot be selected with right-click range. The right-click range works only when it extends to the "correct" part (to the right of the grid line).

Reaper 5.29 x64, Windows 7 x64

Project is where I set Beats timebase. Item source defaults to project settings.

Can you reproduce it, or is it just me?

Can you post a minimal project that demonstrates this?

I just tried to do that and to my surprise I couldn't! I don't know how but right now quantizing works fine.

This problem had been with me for days. Oh well, if it happens again I'll report back and I'll upload a project too.

Thanks for your time guys.

[ EDIT: 5 minutes later ]
I loaded yesterdays project where I knew the quantize problem was present. It did happen again. I copied a midi item to a fresh project and the problem is here too. Here's the fresh project.

Thanks for posting the project. That took a while to figure out! Somehow you have set a very tiny start offset in the media item, probably by doing a tiny alt+drag in the arrange view while zoomed in. The start offset is less than 1ms, so it doesn't show up in the item properties dialog, but it is in the .RPP file.

You can fix this by opening the item properties (right-click the item in the arrange view) and typing "0" in the box for start in source, then click apply.
