Default sharing a reaper project with another reaper user

Can anyone give me step by step directions on how to share a project with another reaper user??

I've shared the project and he can see the files and each track but he can't hear them.

Thanks for your help

First thing to check for the other user is the input/output routing because it's probably the case that you are using different audio interfaces and therefore different output channels (for the master track, etc).

If the project also includes MIDI files: does the other user have the same plugins/virtual instruments installed on his computer (so that the MIDI tracks can create sound from the MIDI items)?

Otherwise can you post more details like:
- which files did you share exactly?
- which tracks can't be heard: only Audio tracks, only MIDI tracks or no tracks at all?
- and so on ...

Thanks Solger. He can't hear any of the tracks. There is no midi involved, only audio tracks. You are right though we are using two different audio interfaces. I have the Steinberg UR 22 MKII and he has a Focusrite 2i2. What does he need to do to hear the tracks that I sent him?? Is there something I need to do differently?? Thanks again for your help.

after he loads your project, he should look in the Pref's for the audio device and see if your project changed it to your device... if so, set it back to his device and resave the project

that may or may not be the problem

In case checking the audio preferences, as hopi mentioned, doesn't solve the problem:

- Did you also share the audio files which are used in the project? Or only the .rpp Reaper project file?
- Do you see any activity on the tracks at all (like moving meters)?
- Are there any indications that the audio items might be missing or offline?
