Default Panning (stereo field) behavior for tracks in folders

Tried searching for related queries but could only find threads pertaining to db levels on tracks when in folders.

Basically I want to use one track that has several plugins instantiated on it, and buss the tracks in the folder to the folder master track so I don't have to duplicate the fx. However, i want the tracks in the folder to be at different positions in the stereo field, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do this...

Bussing the tracks in the folder to its master will set the stereo position of the folder tracks to the master; e.g., if the folder master track is at center the folder tracks will be at center regardless of the position of their pan faders. (Track grouping parameters don't seem to help either; setting the folder tracks as their own pan master doesn't do anything...)

So is there a way to get tracks in folders to override the submaster pan fader, or am I just messing up the track grouping parameters or something...

you don't need to route or group anything, Just make sure the child tracks are the Master/parent send clicked in the IO box. Also make sure you are sending channels 1 and 2 and receiving on channels 1 and 2

The folder can just be the holder for the FX and all the child tracks automatically send to that, panning the child tracks will put them in the appropriate field. Sounds like you have the children's pan grouped to the Parent / folder? or to other child tracks?
