Reveal Sound Spire slow program change in Reapre v5.0pre2
Hi, it's my first post here. I love Reaper and hope that this report will help. I'm not sure it's the right place to post this, but I couldn't find a specific one for beta test.
Using Reaper v5.0pre2 v5.0pre2 - December 24 2014
Spire vsti v1.0.18 is loading presets very much slower than with prior version of Reaper(v. 4.76).
I could reproduce this behavior all the time.
I tried with exactly the same number of tracks and same other vst(i) loaded.
I even verified this with other daws just in case, but Reaper v. 5.0 pre 2 is the only Daw where this happens.

v5 isn't official yet, therefore I moved the thread here (Reaper Pre-Release Discussion forum is the specific place for beta testing).
The latest pre is 5.0pre6b. Please verify if the issue is still happening in that version and if yes, please use either the current pre's announcement thread (currently it's v5.0pre6b - January 16 2015 ), or the thread called " ::R5 Bug Reports here::" to report v5 bugs.

Thank you for moving my post where it should be, sorry for the mess.
Where can I download this last version?

Hi Olymoon,
Was wondering if you were using reaper 4 before and had installed 5 as a separate install. If so, it might be worth exporting you reaper 4 config into your reaper 5 install (in preferences window) as this will help to see if it's a preference that is set differently that is causing it
Probably not, but it's worth a try

It's never not been slow for me, even with Reaper 4. I just figured the plugin was just slow changing settings like Serum.

Ok Guys, I didn't had time to do any test as for now. But finally I've tested exactly the same with reaper50pre7_x64 and now it changes programs smoothly.
I didn't imported any config from 4.76, as I did the install aside.
But it seems that this version had automatically imported my configurations, like the Skin, the ASIO config etc..
I'm very impatient to see v. 5 out and buy it.
Someone know where can I find info about the update price in case I buy Reaper now?

There is no update price. A license is valid until the end of an update cycle plus another complete version, which means that if you buy your license now it will be valid until the last v5 update. Then you don't upgrade, you simply buy a new license.

Thank you for your answer.
I'll wait to see if they integrate some sort of Staff view and edit. I don't need a complex one, nor printable scores, but midi staff edition is really a big tool.

I just made an accidental discovery. When using the program change buttons on my keyboard controller the presets change *instantly* vs. several seconds with the interface which means this is definitely a bug, rather than Spire just being slow (which I had assumed).
So if you want to just flip through presets, use the program change buttons.
Maybe this info can help "Reveal" the source of the problem and inSpire a fix.

Bumping this because the issue still exists 6 years later. If Reveal Sound was going to fix it I'm sure it would've happened by now.
