Default Alt+Shift bug ?

This one is weird. Just discovered this.

Whenever i alt+shift-click somewhere in Reaper my ctrl/alt (Alt Gr) key is not working anymore.
It's like a toggle. Alt+shift-click again and my ctrl/alt key is working again.

I hope it has nothing to do with my (rather old and nearly dying) laptop
so i'm posting here first before i will report it as a bug.

To test it:

Just click with alt+shift in the empty area of the tcp or mcp,
then open the actions list and search for a shortcut assigned to ctrl/alt + ....
Assuming that you've assigned one, the search will lead to nothing.
Can of course also be tested with mouse modifiers.

I'm using reaper 4.75 on winXP.

Can anyone confirm this ? Is it a reaper bug or should i just throw my laptop out of the window ?

Thanks !

Alt does that file menu underscoring thing. Very annoying. It breaks a lot more than just ctrl + shift keys while active.

One possible reason, do you by chance have
Prevent ALT key from focusing main menu
disabled in Preferences > General > Keyboard
and it's causing the focus away from shortcuts?

Thanks people !

Tested this stuff with a keyboard tester program.
It really seems that alt+shift turns my right alt key (Alt Gr) into a left alt key. So it's not ctrl+alt but a simple alt key then. Has nothing to do with reaper at all.

Is there anything i can do to solve this ? A registry hack or something ?
Will google some more...

Alt+Shift changes keyboard languages in Windows by default.

Thanks ED ! You are my hero !

Never touched this settings in windows in my life !

I'm just wondering why i've dicovered this that late !

I rarely use alt+shift+anything, and when, only in reaper, and there only for one or two shortcuts and some rarely used mouse modifiers.

Really thought i was dumb when i searched for an action in the list which i just assigned to ctrl+alt+L and the search filter couldn't find it any more.

Thank you very much for the quick solution !

Nice one ED, this is the first thing I do with a fresh install
of Windows - disable this annoying shortcut, so easy to forget.
