Default Hardware Output = Cant Solo Tracks?

Using analog summing everything is being sent to hardware outputs. How do I solo a track? When I do it does nothing. Workaround?

Anyone?

EDIT: A mute every track but selected macro might be a workaround but I cant seem to find anything like that in the extensions.... Only mute all/unmute all

Been asking for a while for the functionality to send a solo where we want, an output of our choosing...

How about this macro:
- SWS: toggle (invert) track selection
- mute/unmute tracks
- SWS: toggle (invert) track selection

That actually works really well but it obviously mutes my stereo in(from the 2bus)as well. Can I 'mute safe' this track?

Is there an existing FR for this BTW? Soloing seems like a basic things to be able to do

If you name your stereo return BUSS:

- SWS: toggle (invert) track selection
- Xenakios/SWS: Unselect tracks with BUSS in name
- mute/unmute tracks
- Xenakios/SWS: Select tracks with BUSS in name
- SWS: toggle (invert) track selection

As far as a feature request, one could argue it would make sense to be able to link solo and mute. So what you solo mutes everything else and vice versa. And having mute or solo engaged makes every track be in either state. It's like that on a SSL 4k desk. One could argue that it means a few clicks less, and getting rid of the funny situation of having mute and solo engaged at the same time. Any ways I'm just thinking out loud, haven't really thought it through.

Works pretty damn well.... you JEDI! Only problem is when using Multis where MIDI and audio are on separate tracks. You have to go back to unmute the MIDI tracks/kontakt itself. I suppose I could put BUSS on them but that would be kinda weird for naming tracks.

Good to hear it's working
I'm affraid this is all I could come up with.

So has your mixes benefited from the analog summing?
What summing device are You using?

Its going to have to do for now! Thanks again for being smarter than me

Dangerous 2bus. Was a nightmare setting up but defiantly a different world. I didnt believe the hype but it has made mixing much easier. The main benefits(for me) are WAY more headroom, that harshness seems to be gone(2-3k 7k), more punch in general but especially with vocals/kick drum. Hitting the mono button really brings things up front and center(duhhhh) in a big way. I say this because its a different kind of 'center'. Creates that 'third speaker' thing which I try to strive for.

Cons: Just another thing to worry about not working properly. The software issues that are introduced(hence this thread). Sessions take a little more time to set up but its well worth it.

couldn't you just make your master (or a Folder) multi-channel - and route your mix to that.

from that Master (or Folder / Buss) route to your hardware.

(Solo defeat the Folder / Buss if you use that.)

Cool thanks for sharing. What kind of music do you mix?

This sounds like a much better solution I have to say...
