REAPER v4.77
v4.77 - February 7 2015 - Item fades: fixed potential for invalid output in certain but rare fades
- JSFX:
- fixed last touched parameter when skipping sliders [t=152326]
- support for naming sliderXY variables via @sliderx:varname=defval<... syntax
- Media Explorer: support for MIDI/OSC action binding
- Preferences: fixed track icon alignment setting [p=1473659]
- Project tabs: fixed hide/restore of input FX windows on tab switch
- Render queue: fixed invalid render directories/filenames in certain instances [issueid=5459]
- Ripple editing: fixed moving items with other locked items at same position [issueid=5490]
- Screensets:
- better project tab support for FX
- fixed screenset issues with input FX and hardware FX
- Undo: improved FX envelope panel undo behavior
- VST: fixed incorrect latency reporting when changing pin connections

but in general the changelog can´t be complete.
Some important things missing...
v4.77rc1:

Well, the changes (most likely) are included in v4.77. However, I am pretty sure they were purposely left out of the changelog, hence the # character.

I was hoping so much that devs fix this bug with unclickable buttons in Track List:

Reporting again, "visibility" and "unlock" still don't work.

New bug in 4.77:
- cannot input whole numbers in tempo (for example 124 becomes 123.99)
- same applies when using the mousewheel over the tempo: a few tempi are in whole numbers and other are .999

At the risk of being a nerd, I just want to say the random problem of starting Play by just clicking on a midi note in the ME is still with us in the latest REAPER v4.77.

It happened 3 or 4 times for me today and there is something a little strange about it. I's not the same as if I hit the SpaceBar to engage Play, because when it starts playing the first thing I do is hit the SpaceBar to stop it. However, it doesn't stop right away, I have to press the SpaceBar two or three times to get it to stop.

Still getting crashes when quitting after having a project loaded for a while. Today I was sure to close all projects, wait then quit, but it still crashed.
Happened occasionally with previous recent updates also.

Have a look at your project settings.
You certainly have "Force project tempo / time signature changes to occur on whole samples" active.
If so, the behavior is right and not a bug.

the ghost play clicker is sometimes still with us.

By the way Devs, there is a little, but ultra long standing gfx bug, for the scrollbar.
I only write this because ....the same still exists in V5pre´s.
It´s affect the Horizontal thumb on the right side of the scrollbar- if themers set the pinkline on the right side for that thumb greater 3px (for curves)or so.
Then, exactly at the height/beginning of this pink line, sometimes or better often an ugly vertical blank line is drawn. I have to add that this occurs if the scrollbar in Windows is not at 17px

hangs when saving
When I click 'save project' Reaper 4.77 hangs for a few seconds (3-8 sec). After which Reaper returns to normal operation. But it's pretty much interfere with, as I used to save projects often. I did not notice this bug in older versions of Reaper.
Please correct it.

I doubt that it is a bug or there would be a lot of people complaining.
Your computer specs?
How large is your project?
Are you saving the 'undo' file with your project? This can cause 'save' to slow down a little if the undo file is large (it can also cause the project file to get very large).

probably hangs for a moment while accessing the file system. Do you have networked drives, external drives or low hard disk space?

Windows 7X64 core i7 ram 16 gb etc.I have not had this problem before on this computer.
rpp-bak file has 625 MB
But at 4.76 the rpp-bak file had a size of 4 GB and more without this bug.
The project file has 9 MB.

Is anyone else having a problem loading 32bit software into 64bit (bridging)? That is to say, it will load the programme but I can no longer select the instruments. Was fine before. In my case, it is Hypersonic2. Thanks
PS - Reloaded version 4.731 and all seems fine.

Martin, on which Win version are you using Hypersonic? I still have a license for this synth, which I really like a lot, but thought it wouldn't be possible to install/use anymore on Win8 64-bit.

I updated. I was having problems after I started reaper so I restarted it and now I get a error about cryentity.dll or something. ANy clue what is going on?

i notice that i miss the new FX folder in the "add FX" dialog (after adding a VST and rescan). did i optimize that away or is this not working at the moment?

Afaik, if you didn't install any new plug-ins since REAPER's last run, it *shouldn't* appear.
(Btw: for me, it *never* shows newly installed AU plug-ins, for some reason...)

No, that cant be true. Iam using reaper a bit over a half year now and use that feature a lot (with VSTs) in the begining. (both ways, with reaper restart and rescan via F5) and it is broken now (for me). so is it the version or is it my "optimizing"?
