Default reapers really bogging down big time

its been like this ever since version 3 came out. as soon as reaper opens it shoots up to over 50% pc usage, and once i open vsts, forget about it. i run 64 bit vista with 4 gigs of ram. i was using the 32 bit version and it still did it, so the other day i switched, and nothing.

anyone else have this?

Nope. Reaper 3.13 x86 AND x64 both running like a dream here. Have you added anything else to your setup lately?

V3 is way faster than v2. Maybe you've left the session playrate slide at some weird value or the session samplerate doesn't match the media item rate.

Agreed, Reaper v3 is much hastier than v2 also for me. ANd specifically, I have no problems whatsoever loading the ABG plugins, so I guess your problem is not Reaper but something else. But then, I'm on Xp 32-bit. Maybe some Vista update broke something...
