Track freezing and console emulation - Freeze track up to last selected FX

Track freezing and console emulation? I was wondering how everyone handles this. It occurred to me that freezing these FX might not produce the best result. Also with this particular FX it would be useful to retain its functionality on a frozen track.

I'm using Waves NLS, which is the last FX on every frozen track. Is there a way of automating the menu item, 'Freeze track up to last selected FX' so that it will select all but the last item in a track FX and freeze it, it would be very handy to have it as a shortcut.
