Default Change vst sound preset via midi?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to change a soft synth, like Sylenth1, preset via midi?

I have an Akai ldp8 and what I want to do is press pad 1 to move to the next preset and pad 2 to the previous or something like that.

Any ideas?

Thanks...

Hello chiller and welcome to these forums. You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information.

This might help: you can link MIDI Program Change messages to the presets for a plug-in. Here is an example using an FX:

That example shows the MIDI PC messages being sent from a MIDI Clip but they could come from a keyboard controller too.

Thanks for the welcome and the link, DarkStar! I've been lurking on the forum for a while and it does indeed seem like a very friendly and informative place.

I'll look into Midi Program Change and the link you posted, will return if I have more questions.

Thanks again, man!
