Glitch When Moving Between AU and VST plugin GUI in FX Chain

I don't have a lot of detailed info but it seems that if you have a plugin chain that is mixed with AU and VST/VST3 plugins, there is a disruption in audio playback when you move between the GUIs of the various plugins in the chain.

I used to have all AU plugins inserted so this wasn't an issue. Now I'm trying to use VST/VST3 but FabFilter plugins for instance have an issue with the VST3 version remembering the settings and presets so I still use the AU versions. There are also a few plugins like Goodhertz that are AU only and don't have a VST version.

Would it be possible to avoid the audio glitch that happens when you move between AU and VST plugin GUIs in the FX chain window?
