Default Feature Request: 'Macro Controls' (NOT quick launch macros)

A feature with a set of 8 nobs assignable/routable to any perimeter of the channel, including VST plugin effects and VSTi plugin instruments, with an 'amount' that this would have on its individual destination and sensitivity of its self as 'amount' so when connected to a controller for example a full fader or pot (nob) amount 0 - 127 will only move the macro nob a certain amount as set, and then on from that the macro nobs destination/s controlled in this way then will only have a certain amount of effect, or you could leave the amount alone and have full control 1-127 etc etc

Similar to as seen in Abeleton Live and Bitwig Studio

Bitwig studio is let down by having no VSTi multi outs at present but version 1.1 is going to have that, they have NO PLANS to have Rewire, of which Reaper has.

IF Cockos listen to me, in implementing Macro controls you would gain A HUGE amount of new customers and a HUGE amount of people switching from other DAWS me INCLUDED in that list from the latter as an experienced DAW user (I have used them all for 25 years and editors on MAC, WIN, Linux).

Regards,

Alchemy is one of those VST instruments that has macro controls.

You assign a couple of midi knobs to those eight macro knob controls and x/y pads, and pick and choose in the VST instrument what those macro controls do.

This is a more advanced form of managing controls.

I imagine some users will want to have these macro controls of Reaper displayed as parameter controls (those optional knobs on the TCP & MCP). Thus you get instant visual feedback without having to open a plugin GUI as well.

Great idea IMHO.

I agree having them available so you wouldn't need to open them yes, but also a separate set of macro controls also, so you can assign those 8 to how ever many you want, and even open up another 8 etc etc.
