Default Midi item won't trigger when moved to a different synth track?!

So I have a few external synth setup on different midi tracks.

After I record on one synth and want to move the midi item to a different track routed to a different synth it won't trigger that synth?

Any reason for this? or am I missing something?

Thanks!

Probably it is the MIDI channel number for the notes that is different.

Actuallly bit confused here, so you mean the midi channel info is also recorded into the midi item?
Thanks

The MIDI channel is a property associated with every MIDI note and MIDI CC message.

You could change it for all the MIDI messages in the MIDI Editor. Or, if you are using a Send to route the MIDI clip to the synth you can change it in the Send's Routing window.

Details of both are in the User Guide.

If you open MIDI editor and change to Event View (Alt+3) you'll see the channel number is in every message. When you copy a MIDI item the channel number is included.

I assume your external synths are operating on different channels so you when intend the copied item to work with a different synth you'll need to change the channel. There are probably neater ways to fix it but one that works is to select all the copied items in MIDI editor and change the channel number (right click, select "Note channel").
