Thanks Kenny, I didn't know about that.
It must be just for the arrange area, it didn't seem to work on tracks in the TCP and MCP?

Yes, I was just talking about the tracks themselves, but I only tried a couple. When I get more time I'll try some others.
Still I'm glad to know about this, I've actually got a client in the studio right now who I've got editing a bunch of tracks. When he gets done I've got some ideas how to test this out.
Once again, thankyou.

Thanks for sharing Kenny.
I can't tell you how many times I wondered what the right-clicked highlight on the toolbar icon did... but I never got around to looking into it .
Reaper has more nooks and crannies than a 500lb hooker.

I knew about the smart tool, I think from one of your other videos. However, I hadn't spent any time on thinking about using it creatively, until now. Always enlightening. Thanks Kenny. One day I'm going to track you down and buy you a beer. I may even splurge on imported.

Mercy sakes, as my mom used to say, that was very enlightening. Maybe the best part is that it illustrates how deep this program is when approached with an open and creative mind. Like yours, Kenny.

Video Processor change Title
Hey sorry for maybe a silly question, but how can I change the text in the video processor, title overlay preset where it says "This is a title" and also how I can change the font ? because editing in the code are it does not change anything in the video window.
Thank you.

After many, many years recording with Roland VS hard disc recording the transition has been made so much easier with your videos. They are coming out so quickly now it hard to keep up! I just bought a new computer Core 17 and I feel like I'm on solid ground with all stuff I've learning from your videos. It's great to have your videos to fall back on when I get stuck.
I feel a million seller is in the works!
Keep up the good work it is appreciated!

Nice, Kenny! As usual. I'm surprised though, at the amount of compressed drums you use. I've been doing it the exact opposite. I set the un-compressed fader and bring up the compressed under that. I'll try it your way though. Also, never thought about the EQ-compression either. Good tip!

I do it your way as well. I'm not advocating using as much compression as I did either. This video was showing you a technique. Not a final result that should be used.

Hey Kenny, I was wondering if you could do a video on Region Playlist, with the SWS Extensions, and creating custom actions for such?
For instance, I set up my Reaper for live looping, to an extent... say I wish to play along with random loops, or multiple tracks, within a region... creating an on-the-fly jam session of sorts... this is great for ambient music or layered/textured stuff.
Here's what I did (and maybe one of your videos could REALLY help a lot of users explain this better than I'm about to):
1. Obviously, I installed SWS Extensions.
2. Then, I set up my Behringer FCB1010 to send MIDI notes (or whatever MIDI controller I might want to use-- including an Alesis Controlpad, when I'm sitting at my drumkit)
3. Then, I created custom actions, that are assigned to the MIDI notes-- these actions are:
CUSTOM ACTION
- Go to/select Region 01 (obeys smooth seek)
- Regions: Go to region 01 after current region finishes playing (smooth seek)
I name this "PLAY REGION 1 AS INFINITE LOOP"
I repeat the steps for four regions and name them accordingly (more can be added if modifying a certain Reaper .ini file, which I can't remember right now)... I have a total of 10, in my Reaper Custom Actions.
4. I set up regions in my Reaper Project, and set them all to "Toggle Infinite Loop"
5. I make sure Reaper's "Toggle Repeat" (the green light on the transport) is set to ON.
6. I assign a MIDI pedal or pad to "Transport/STOP"
------------
I'm able to step on pedals or hit my Controlpad with a drumstick (depending on what instrument I might be playing) and I can loop regions easily... infinitely... and when I'm tired of them, I can hit a different pedal or pad, and as soon as that region is done playing, it jumps to whatever one I triggered.
This is also GREAT for jamming along to "drumless" tracks... and not ever being bored.. as a drummer, I can tell my "Band" (Reaper)... to play whatever part I want, whenever I want.
Super, super useful thing.
I'd love for you to possibly do a video like this... Region Playlists are AMAZING!!!!
Thanks for all the amazing work you do, Kenny.

I canīt get a mouse modifier to work, that selcts time and/or loop from within the midi editor.
Maybe I have some global setting switched false.
I did exactly as shown in the video (thanks for sharing kenny)
It does not work, hm....
Tried it via midi-ruler and piano roll.
It moves somehow, but it always seems to ignore snap and the time selection is not displayed in the midi editor
If someone could give me a hint that would be much appreciated, thanks

You know that Snap in the Midi Editor is separate from the one in the TCP. Right?

Hi Kenny, thankīs for your reply.
It is not a snap thing. As you can see in the sc-shots:
I donīt have any loop points or time selections in my midi editor.
It has always been like that. I did just learn that changing ts and lp is possible in ME by your video.
Am I doing something wrong?
My Midi-Editor
Your video shows ts and lp in the ME, hm....???
Your Midi-Editor
Iīve been through global settings for a while but couldnīt find anything.
BTW: The mouse-modifier ist working, but it is only displayed in the arrange-view.

Iīve got it sorted (at least kind of).
I searched the forum a bit and found out, that it could have to do something with the ini-file of REAPER.
So I placed the ini-file to my desktop and let REAPER create a new one with the next start -> everything works as intended.
I see the time-selection-borders in my midi-editor, which is great.
The downside of doing so, is the loss of settings in the ini-file.
I tried to just delete (without any knowledge of programming ) the entries in the ini that were named midi-editor.
REAPER did not like that and rewarded me with all set to zero at the next start (looks as if I deleted the ini-file).
So seems, I have to do it the hard way and get my settings together again with a fresh ini-file, hm.....
