Default Transposing several midi items at once in Main ?

I often find my self starting to compose in a certain key and scale and later i wanna change the key and/or the scale.

Is there a simple way in Main window to transpose all the involved midi items to the other key / scale ?

It would be very tedious to select each midi item in Main window, then open it in Midi Editor and then open
the Transpose MIDI window.

(Offtopic but i think the Transpose MIDI window should also be available in Main window ..)

I dissed Cubase along time ago but it's Chord / transpose track did really have it's charms concerning my question ..
Would be Halleluja for me to see it one day implemented in Reaper :0)

Non-destructively:

Actions: Item properties: Pitch item up (down) one semitone

Destructively (so the actual notes move):

SWS/FNG: Transpose selected MIDI items up (down) a semitone

(All actions work on several selected MIDI items at once.)

(edit: Just noticed, you rather want diatonic transpose / tranpose to key instead of chromatic transpose no ? Then I know no other way than the Transpose from the MIDI editor, sorry)

If you have pooled midi item, you have to use the Heda's script to unselect MIDI items from the same pool

Hi,

Unless I misunderstand, can't you select all the items you want to transpose and use transpose actions? Works in arrange....I have mine set to Ctrl number pad...4 lower by octave....7 lower by semitone...6 up octave....9 up by semitone.

Hi Heda,

Your script brings partially the answer to my question and i thank you for this script !
However, i also stated my wish in OP to do the transposing to a certain key and scale :0)

@ Devs: Really, the Transpose MIDI window that is available in MIDI Editor (where you can set a new key and scale) should also be available in Main Window !

Maybe making a FR for this :0)
