Virtual keyboard extended range of center note

Here's something that's been frustrating me for a while. For some reason or another, it's not possible to set the center note (with right-click or arrow keys) of the virtual piano keyboard higher than F#5, or lower than C#3. This means you cannot play anything below C#2 with the alphanumeric keyboard.

This is super annoying because you can't properly play the C2-C3 octave in a normal manner. Also I have my MIDI drums set in this range with C2 being the lowest note. I can't change this as it corresponds to hardware MIDI.

Is there any good reason for this and if not, can this be fixed?
