Default Free K-Meter Available for OSX

I've been working with Martin Zuther to compile his Implementation of a K-System meter according to Bob Katz’ specifications, for the Mac. I've created a stereo version in AU, VST and a standalone version. You can download the binaries from my GitHub repo.

You can also get to the Windows/Linux verisons (which have been around for years) and read more about K-Meter from Martin's site .

Thanks very much !!

But:

1) VST version isn't seen in Reaper
2) AU version gives error when trying to open.

I have drag dropped the 2 plugins in Components en VST folder on system level.
OSX 10.10.5
Reaper 5.20beta 9 - 64bit.

@vanhaze I only tested under the following:
Reaper 5.18/64
OSX 10.11.4

I also only tested with the user Library folder (~/Library) not the system library (/System/Library ?).

I suppose if your Options->show REAPER resource path in explorer/finder... item takes you down below the /System/Library/ then it should work but I don't know enough about Reaper internals to say for sure. I know mine takes me to the user Library folder. Also are all your other VST and AU plugins in these folders? This plug-in is built on the JUCE framework so I would expect it to behave like many other plug-ins.

If it's not the folder location, it might just not work with that beta release of Reaper. I guess I'll find that out the hard way when it goes out of beta (although at least then I can debug it). I compiled this on my laptop but I also have a Mac desktop and I downloaded from github and installed it on that machine with no issue (also running the same versions as listed above).

Default New Version

I set the deployment target in XCode to 10.4 for the AU and VST versions. For the standalone version I had to set it to 10.5. Again I could only test on 10.11 so I don't have a lot of confidence this will work but if anyone on older versions of Mac OSX wants to test I would be grateful for the feedback.

The problem with doing this is I don't have a 10.4 or 10.5 SDK so if either the JUCE library or the FFTW library uses any APIs in later SDKs this won't work. On the other if the libraries don't use anything from the newer SDKs, it should work. Anyway it doesn't seem to harm anything when running on 10.11 it just seems to remove a validation check for OSX 10.11 or later. I would guess the odds of this working decrease linearly with the age of the OS.

There were some minor upgrades in the Meter itself so if anyone on 10.11 wants to download again you can. Martin implemented true peak metering so there's a separate feedback area for that. There were also some minor cosmetic changes.

I'm running OS X 10.10.5 and unfortunately neither the AU or VST show up in Reaper. Shame, I got excited already.
