Default synth view equivalent (noob)

Hmmm...

I really want to switch to Reaper from Sonar and have been messing around all evening with it. I generaly find what I want to do fast enough, but there's this one thing; once I have added a soft synth and closed the synth screen, how do I open it gain???

Thanks

H

Welcome hogo,

there is no synth rack in Reaper. Instrument plugins are handled equivalent to FX plugins and can have any position in any track's FX insert chain.

To open a plugin's interface from a track header (tcp): Click the FX button to open the FX chain window with all plugins in the track inserts. Highlight the one you want to edit in the list on the left side will make it visible on the right side. You can also float a single plugin window from there.

To directly open a specific plugin from a track header right click the FX button and you see a list of the inserted plugins. Click opens.

In the mixer you can additionally show insert slots with the plugin names. A click on a slot opens the plugin.
