Default Displaying Lyrics Karaoke Style?

I am working on a project which involves composing music with MIDI and writing lyrics.

I was able to "Import Lyrics for Selected Notes from File" and after a little tweaking it is aligned properly with the notes.

It displays properly in the Midi Editor, and the NOW line reaches each word or syllable during playback at the proper time in the Text Events lane of the editor.

Is there a way to have the sequentially highlighted lyrics display in sync with the MIDI events without being in the MIDI editor? (Karaoke style)

Hiya
I have been fighting with adding Lyrics to midi files and I would be pleased if you could tell me how its done.
I use midi files on my Yamaha keyboard and would like to display the midi notes and lyrics on track one. Thank-you help may be at hand after all.

Stick em in MIDI track 4 like the standard (grin) suggests. either line em up by hand or do it as suggested above, like the rest of us.
Me personally? I decided to actually learn the damn lyrics - it was easier......

Here is how I did it. (I apologize in advance if this deletes everything you have ever done in Reaper)

Type your lyrics using Word, Open Office, or any other word processor.
Separate the words into syllables.
Save your lyrics as a text file. (an option with any text editor)

Open (or create) your Reaper project that contains a MIDI track with the melody only.

Select that track, and solo it.
Double click on the track midi notes to enter the editing mode.
Edit, Select All
Click on Actions.
Show Action List.
In the Filter Box, type import.
Click on Import Lyrics for selected notes from file
Click Run
Select the text file
Click open.
In the pane below the piano roll view, select Text Events.

Depending on your composition, you may need to tweak it a little if the syllables do not exactly match the melody.

It displays properly in the Midi Editor, and the NOW line reaches each word or syllable during playback at the proper time in the Text Events lane of the editor.

However, as I wrote in the OP, it only is visible in the MIDI editor.

So near, and yet so far.

This looks more useful for most purposes.

Use method (a)

Two ways:

a) click [Insert]. select Empty Item, double-click it to open it and type in your lyrics, tick Stretch to fit item, click OK

b) in the MIDI Editor, select the Text Events controller lanre, double click the lane to enter a text event, enter your lyrics, set the position if needed and change the type to Lyrics

PS IS there any way to make the MIDI Editor text event font size bigger?
