Bad pop but there's hope if I could find a singer.
My first foray into ducking the bass with The Rocket
but the kick on this seems too busy to really be a valid application.
There is some pumping but it all sounds great when there is
no singing. The bass still needs help, It needs to be redone
as it was a first take, I do like how the guitar came out.

not "bad" pop at all. i think it has a feel of Donovan, Bolan, and a tiny tiny bit of Floyd--at least that era.
singer, why? your voice suits this just fine to my ears. i think some songs are more effective and "real" w/o a "great" voice driving it. i've heard remakes of songs, say by Dylan, that just ruined the original because it was done by a fantastic singer that just killed the 'realness' of it.

Very nice! I am listening to this on a crappy computer speaker at work, and I think it's great. Nice and sparse, not overblown. I can't comment on the mix or anything due to the speaker, but I dig it and amlooking forward to hearing the rest.

Haha, thanks for the kind critique. There are two breaks and I am still sorting out an ebow solo and a trumpet solo. In the meantime I tamed the bass. I gave up on side chaining this although it was a useful experiment I almost got to work but it always pumps somewhere and automating it seemed too much work so I just gave it gentle compression and focused on eq.

don't remember how the older mix sounded enough for comparison, but this version sounds good. i re-read your opening comments and didn't hear much that you mentioned present in this one.
