I wish Reaper would have those MIDI editing stuff
I know, I know, this topic is as old as the hills, but whenever I see a video like this I realize how poor Reapers MIDI edting capabilities still are.

And that's by no means everything Cubase has to offer in the MIDI department. I really like the "Photoshop style" of manipulating the velocity curves.

That's actually pretty sweet. They kinda ripped the S1 transformer in general but they also applied it to velocity, the one place it doesn't apply in S1.
Leapfrog. Nice one.

That is actually pretty cool. Can some of this be done with mouse modifiers?

This is very awesome. I do wonder why Reaper doesn't get any of these... They're important for quick workflow.

Justin pretty much explained that on AskJF, that he does what works well for him mostly and doesn't pay much attention to other apps. (paraphrase)
He also touched on something that I've speculated on, that not everything may actually fit, or easily fit. (another paraphrase / rough perceptual translation)

I can only hope that as he ages, and his eyes aren't what
they once were, that he'll find that HE needs the ability
to change font sizes in Project Notes, Markers, and Item Notes
Sorry - couldn't resist the opportunity to plug the need
for font dialogs in all places that have user text entry

I think we aren't too far from that - we have plenty of midi mouse modifiers empty, we could add in quite a few more. But the graphical representation of the selected notes is something that would help, workflow-wise

The good bit there is the "shaping" part... imo. Those edits he made would be quite difficult to duplicate without some way to shape a group of velocities.
I think Cubendo calls that tool a "scaler", it's the same one used for automation. Clever use there with velocities.

Just out of curiosity: would this be achievable thru the API or is this solely in the hands of the developers ?

Really cool MIDI features request
Please look at this Alex Pfeffer velocity toturial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DU_Vwp3zzU
I think a lot of Reaper users need something like these features.

Although not quite working the same way (i.e. not working on a graphical basis) all this is covered by my nearly 1 1/2 year old FR.
(Links in my sig).
