Default New PC, installed REAPER, Camel Crusher won't load.

Hi -

I just got a new refurbished Windows 7 desktop yesterday, & I'm trying to transfer everything over (of course.) Reaper installs fine, but Camel Crusher is one that I cannot get Reaper to find! I installed both the 32 & 64 bit versions. Still no change.

Thanks for the help!

I love my Camel Crusher. It has never given me any trouble whatsoever.

It occurs to me that it might be better for you to uninstall the 32 bit version for now, to simplify troubleshooting the 64 bit version.

Have you checked the directory structure and contents? You should have, in your usual VST folder (or a sub-directory thereof), both CamelCrusher.dll and a shortcut to ProgramData > Camel Audio > CamelCrusherData

CamelCrusherData should contain Skins (folder), CamelCrusherManual.pdf, CamelCrusherPresetsA.fxb and MidiConfig.txt.

Well, I appear to have it on Reaper now. The skin won't load, but the plugin seems to be showing up in a weird format that looks like a graphic eq.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I'd guess you're seeing REAPER's generic User Interface - the one that you get if you press the UI button for any plugin. It will show by default when a plug-in functions but its UI doesn't (or if it doesn't have one).

Do you have a Skins folder for Camel? Mine contains a subfolder, 'default', itself containing:

Background.png
ButtonRandom.png
FontDisplay-Old.png
FontSelector.png
FontVersion.png
Knob.png
OnButton.png
PhatButton.png
SelectorPreset.png
SkinParameters.txt
(and Thumbs.db)

FWIW, there is another skin, CrystalCrusherSkin-Djemps, available from the Camel website.

I just looked around until I found the .dll file.

Check the attachment for a screenshot of how it shows up. I can't find the skins folder.

Yes, that's REAPER's generic UI.

Hmm... did you actually install Camel Crusher to your new desktop, or just move the .dll over from your old system?

Search your computer for CamelCrusherData - if you find it, try placing a shortcut to it in the folder with the .dll, and if you don't find it, try downloading and installing Camel Crusher again.

Found the .exe file & installed again. Now it's working with it's real skin. Thanks!

Any idea how I can get the key back for my Reaper license I purchased earlier this month? I'd like to get rid of the nag screen! lol

Just tried to install CC on a Mac. I can't get the installer to, err, install. It creates a new unzipped filer with the skins, .dll etc in it but it's not installed. I used this link

http://www.audiopluginsforfree.com/camelcrusher/

Any thoughts, anyone?

Just to clarify: Did you use the CamelCrusherMac-1-0-1.dmg installer file for mac inside the download .zip? Because the x32 and x64 exe-installer files are for Windows ...

The .dmg just blinks and doesn't do anything. I tried the Win ones on the but as you say, they are windows ones and didn't work.

If you can see a 'CamelCrusher' icon on the Desktop after opening the .dmg file, continue with step 2.

Otherwise: 1) Select the CamelCrusherMac-1-0-1.dmg file and choose File > Open With > DiskImageMounter which should give you a 'CamelCrusher' icon on the Desktop

2) Double-click on the 'CamelCrusher' Desktop icon and then open the 'CamelCrusher.mpkg' installer package file inside
3) Follow the installation steps
4) Now CamelCrusher should be available in Reaper's FX Browser

Thanks. DiskImagemounter doesn't open it. Again, it just blinks and does nothing. Never mind, I'll live without it. Thanks for the help.
