Default Create Midi notes in a track and render them as samples

I want to automate the creation of samples by script.

i.e.

i) generating notes across keyboard as midi notes

ii) rendering sections of the track to isolate the samples.

If Reaper cant do this, is there another tool, IDE, which could?

thanks

Jon

Hi Jon and welcome to the forums!

Generally you can't create samples just out of MIDI notes. You need in instrument of course that creates some sound to create the samples from. The sound can be generated by a VSTi, which could be a sampler or a synth or something else that creates sound when getting MIDI Data.

Reaper can do what you want to do, if the above conditions are fulfilled, but it's quite a complex task that can't be explained in one or two lines. Also, the task might differ, depending on the samples you want to create.

I have a VSTI and i want to create some midi notes/chords on the current track,
then i want to render those notes out as individual WAV files.

this is to automate creating a sample library using scripting.

I will repost this in the scripting section.
