SLimiter - for easy mastering
SLimiter - for all audio makers. Output audio limiting with input gain correction and pan. Show maximum attenuation and maximum Left-Right difference with time.
All what you need for easy mastering.
I wait your feedback with suggestions, improvement ideas, errors, etc
Made it from MGA_JSLimiterST of Michael Gruhn - thanks!
Download it from here: https://stash.reaper.fm/26691/SLimiter

Hi,
Yes I think it could be useful for easy mastering as you say.
I'm a bit confused by what the outputs mean though. I think the interface could be improved a bit.
What does "Time position" mean? I see that I can click it and this zeros the values and then is updated according to the play position, but I still don't really get what it means.
I think a button to reset/zero whatever it's doing would be clearer!
I can see that you have recommended values for attenuation down the bottom. How about laying it out like this:
L R
Attenuation (dB) : 0.0 0.0 (these change rapidly)
Peak Attenuation (dB) : 1.2 1.1 OK / Too Low! / Too High
and the Too Low / Too High messages are in green/red, OK is yellow or something.
Glad to help with any graphics you might need

vitalker test it and you will see. Input gain with pan for me is very useful, also maximum attenuation, this features is not in MGA_JSLimiterST. Have more useful features than professionals limiters like Blue Cat Audio Limiter
Attenuation row mean maximum attenuation for and left right with positions which have been found. Next values is for maximum attenuation for left-right difference with the proper position in the timeline. The last value from attenuation row mean instant attenuation.

Sliders are very simple, use more limiter plugins (e.g. Blue Cat Limiter) familiarize yourself and you'll understand exactly. What do you want to understand, what mean gain and pan input? Punk said something other than you, not about sliders.

Sorry, maybe you didn't understand me.
Firstly, I asked you, but you didn't answer "What is the advantage over the original limiter? ". Secondly, I wrote I don't understand what slider names mean.
If English isn't you native, please improve it, because I didn't write any aggressive message to you, but you interpreted it as insult. Excuse me.

From my opinion the best for maximum attenuation would be somewhere from 5dB to 10dB up depends by genre. Up to 3dB only will give a track with low volume.
Good job and thank you for sharing!

Yeah, I'll be honest, I don't understand some of the plugin. Like these lines -
Code:
slider3:200<0,500,1>Release (ms)
release = slider3/1000;
r = exp(-3/(srate*max(release,0.05)));
It undermines itself, no? The user can set slider3 below 50 and think it's doing something but the plugin won't be, it'll treat anything below 50 as 50.
* A few minutes later - I see that's in the original too. Hmm.

SaulT release must have a minimum value, in the next version I will show this minimum on the slider.
Also I'll use Punk Duck and Tony improvement suggestions
Next version will be greatly enhanced with graphics to show how waves are cut.

Thank you SO much SaschArt for making a simple to use mastering tool for noobs like me to help overcome my lack of knowledge on the process!
Are there any presets to recommend?
As I said I'm a total noob, trying to record my acoustic trio ,2 acoustics, one bass.
Many thanks, I'm sure I'll be back asking stupid questions once I try it out

Hello Bazzbass, you're welcome to use it.
Have no presets, best way is to ask experienced users about suitable settings for your your music.

New updated - version 2 with major changes
New updated - version 2 with major changes:
- graph with curves, show in and out volume curves or attenuation and out curves
- attack parameter added, it provides better control of how the peaks are cutting
- maximum attenuation with colors per ranges
I set the ranges from 5-10dB, I expect your proposals for these ranges, by genres tracks.

This is amazing!
Only one thing, at one of my very dynamic tracks difference between peaks and low values is greater than graph range, so the graphs jump continuously. May somehow lock on the higher values?

Thank You for this useful tool!
Implementions might be:
*) adjustable (as option to auto adjustment) graph display
*) ISP capability
*) oversampling
*) switchable LR/MS setting
*) LR/MS channel color graphs (might be adjustable)

^^^^ that would make it perfect, especially ISP limiting and MS capabilities.

The script was modified, I inserted a little latency to changing the scale more slow. Try it now https://stash.reaper.fm/v/27082/Limiter%202.zip

I do not understand exactly what do you mean, the graphics are adjustable, simply resize the window Reaper plugin.

SaschArt, i mean adjustable "gain reduction" and "waveform" graphs ratio. Now its automatic. But don't bother about this so much. Sound is more important

Excuse me for my behaviour. Now I understand how to use it. It was my fault. Sorry. It's really great light limiter for hard songs such as old Skrillex.
