Default Can You Connect 2 Computers Together with Reaper?

I'm also thinking (down the road) of building another daw identical to this one and then I could just mirror drive the OS drive using Acronis True Image or something.

With that being said... can I connect both daws together and work them as a team for more power for larger projects? I know people have done that (and probably still doing) where they'll have multiple daws working together for large film score projects etc.

Thanks!
Jamie

Other than having one system process VST's no, not really.

What is needed is something like Host mode which would allow 1 instance or Reaper to control another, and even then you would have to mix the outputs of the two devices down either externally or by looping the outputs of one to the other and adjusting for latency, unless they were to develop some sort of sync technology.

It's allot of work, I imagine, and because powerful computers are cheap these days, probably not worth the effort to take on.

I keep hoping that they would just delelop host mode, so you could put the interface and computer where no one would hear the fans, and control it with a much less powerful remote

I didn't have much luck with it because I was trying to do something very specific, I didn't actually need more power but trying to use plugins that only worked on my PC. I had a UAD-1 card in my PC with some great plugins, I was trying to use them over the network with my iMac. The plugins must exist on both systems.
I never got around to figuring out if I could make 'dummy' versions of the UAD plugins on my Mac to get this working.
