Default Track displays too high signal

Hello all.

When I save a recording, the gain of the signal will seemingly increases by 6 db. The signal looks fine during the recording but will display this gain increase when saved.

I've concluded that this problem is just a matter of the tracks visual part because even though it crosses the track border, it wont clip the signal (Not showing the red light at the VU).

I've been doing a lot of settings back and forth and don't know when this happened and it drives me nuts that i can't find out how to revert it. This issue is not in any other, older or new, projects. This current project is too big to be transferred to a new file.

Anyone who knows how to resolve this issue? I attached pictures of what it looks like during and after recording.

Cheers
Edde

hi and welcome to the forum!

probably you have zoomed the waveform to be bigger. While you're recording reaper shows the waveform at its smallest zoom, and as soon as you hit stop it shows with your current overall waveform zoom.
shift+down arrow will reduce the overall waveform zoom...let us know!

Simple as that! Thanks a million for the solution!
