Default Hammond B3 suggestions...

Is there anything in the vein of EZ Keys for getting decent B3 sounds? I'm interested in stuff geared more to non keyboardists being one of those dreaded guitar players. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and comments.

In the sample realm, definitely NI vintage organs.

In the synth realm, clearly GSI VB3

To get a bit more creative, I would suggest to try Melda Mrotary to get some extra modulation possibilities with your pseudo-leslie on top of your sound generator.

If you can find a used copy of N.I.s original B4II it does a great job and still works even in Windows 10 Pro 64bit!

Wish they had never discontinued it.

B4II was fine as a sound generator and a live playing instrument. But the distortion section and the rotary engine was atrocious.
It's still not that good in VB3 and VO though

Hence the need of something like melda Mrotary (I find PSP rotary to be crap)

Yep - I have pretty much every Leslie-alike out there and none of them are that good.

I have often been sorely tempted to build my own and mic it up....

FWIW I view B4II as the best of the bunch, warts and all, just wish there was something out there that was genuinely closer to the real thing.

Actually I got along fine with Kontakt's B3 like organs. However, when I got Komplete 9, it included some organs there that I think are a little better.

I've always gotten good results from Kontakt's organs, but the ones in Komplete have separate adjustments for the pickup speed of the bass and treble rotaries, and they can be automated. It works great.
