Default Media Explorer: File length

Hi-

I'm sure this has been requested, but I can't find the thread right now. Please include a "length" column in the Media Explorer window.

Also, why does that window stay on top even if it's not pinned?

Thanks-

-Susan

P.S. The always on top problem seems to have disappeared, so just the "length" column request remains. Thanks-S.

Hello,

I don't have a solution, but there seems to be more trouble to it, which I posted here. Hopefully it's a known bug and gets fixed in next update.

Hi hanskroll-

From your linked post: But whenever I select a new directory (at the left side), the columns switch back to the default categories.
Also, the 'bit depth' column doesn't show any data.

I can confirm both of those issues.

I would use the Windows Explorer view (since it can display the length,) but having to redefine the columns each time I switch folders is annoying and not really worth the time it takes.

Also, my problem with the Media Explorer window staying on top even when it's not pinned is back. I haven't found a formula to repro yet, but it seems to stay on top more often than not.

Thanks-

-Susan

Hello Susan,

In this video I may have found a possible solution, by creating a 'database'. In here, some filter columns do appear and remain, but still no option to add more (like bitrate, bitdepth).

Hi hanskroll-

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. That video was very helpful. Unfortunately, "length" isn't included as one of the column options in a DB, either. Maybe some day...

Thanks again-

-Susan

P.S. BTW: Both the Media Explorer and the Video windows are now staying on top all the time, regardless of the pin status.
