Default Kilot covered an arabesque song in segah makam

Hi, another cover from Kilot. Original song is in arabesque style and scale used in the song has some microtonal notes which are called "commas" in turkish and arabic music. Guitar fret system is rebuilt to play the scale.Hope you like it.

This is a SUPER grooving piece as usual, just brilliant!

It looks like your getting about 6,000 hits a day too, so this one might do very well for you. Congratulations!

Loved it both times I listened, one right after the other. The arrangement on the vocals was effective - alternating solo and group. The band's instrumentals seemed more subdued than in your previous songs. Was that a nod to the traditional nature of the melody? You gentlemen must play a lot. So tight.

This band is from my hometown
I left Istanbul 21 years ago.
This is great, made me a little homesick
I love the fusion of the Western and the Turkish motives.

This is truly amaaaazing!

You should definetily do some more stuff like that. What about covering Selim Sesler or Kamil Erden Quartet?

BTW: Are the fret positions on the guitar changable like on the Saz/Baglama?

Thanks msore. You're right that instrumentals are more subdued. 2 reasons - nature of the song and melody - it is really hard to play the guitar with the new fret system.

Thanks timothys monster. We like the music of both Selim Sesler & Kamil Erden. Yes maybe we can cover from them or cooparate and play together.

Fret positions are changable like baglama. But no need for that. Because You have comma fret on every choromtatic note. So you can play with commas in every scale and tone without changing the tuning of the guitar.

I'd looove to hear a collaboration between you and Selim Sesler at least, because you already have a brilliant bassist in your band

I imagine that fretboard to be way too complicated for my European diatonic brain

Maybe you should get rid of all the frets like the bassist did :P

Our guitarist ilter can also play fretless guitar, too. But if we use fretless guitar, chords won't sound good and in-tune enough. And also some chord positions can not be played with fretless guitar.

I see... chords can really become difficult.

But what kind of chords are impossible?

If you want to play a chord using 6 strings together strumming not sweeping, it's impossible to do that with correct tuning. (Please try to put your fingers on top of frets not between frets on your guitar). If you play chords partially i mean like using 2 or 3 strings yes it is doable. Actually it is not a good idea to use a fretless guitar as a polyphonic instrument unless you're using open strings. If you want to use it in a polyphonic way, it depends on the chord positions and tempo of the song.
