Nice track, very laid back vibe. Like your vocals (they're better then mine).
For some constructive criticism: The mix could be a little bit more 'open', I'm missing a (very little) bit of 'air'. Putting some pultec-like EQ on the stereo bus might do it already. Also, your rhythm guitar is drowning in the mix, so much so that I'm not even sure there is one. So I think it needs a bit of EQ here and there to open things up.

Nice song! The 'stereo picture' is too narrow to me.
Great job!

Thank you guys for listening and the suggestions.
I am working on the new mix now.
I am giving some air and I realized the organ had some low mids that was making the mix a little muddy.
I am also working on the panning as well to get a better stereo image

I think it sounds great.
There is something cut off at the beginning though. It just starts already in progress.
And regarding the comment about letting the track have more air. This is not so obvious until it gets to the guitar solo at the end. I do agree that some air could be used. That guitar solo sounds flat in the mix. I think all the playing and singing is spot on.

I think it's good song, and the production is good too. It sounds like there is a piano playing very quietly. I would have that louder, especially in the chorus.

Burak,
This has a nice 60's vibe. I like the way you've recorded the voice, sounds very vintage.
I don't like the ending, doesn't fit with the beauty of the rest of the song.
I do like the lyrics, nicely thought out.
Great stuff, well done.

Really nice. I think this maybe an updated mix, because it doesn't sound narrow at all.
Best for me is the bottom end, kick drum, bass gtr and organ. Perfect weight and drive. Just perfect 60's. Probably most of that is good playing. Top job.

Thanks a lot guys.
I appreciate that you've taken the time to listen to the song.
Here's the updated mix in mp3 format.
Thus, if you like it, you can have (download) it.
This is the last song for the upcoming album.
This week, I'll hopefully get done with the mixes

That's a nice song. Nothing to add from me... maybe the ending is a little abrupt... but I think I know what you're getting at... and I love those "open" endings myself... just not sure if it's suitable here... or maybe I have listened to too much Byrds lately... but that can't be right... "too much Byrds"... somebody shoot me.

You can't have too much Byrds
I love them too.
This album will (hopefully) have that California vibe.
I wish, I had other vocalists too, I'm overdubbing all my harmonies, that makes them sound more poppy than folky.

Plenty of vocalists right here, if you ask around. But you're doing fine on your own, I think. Some voices do, some don't. Bowie and Byrne do their own, and really well, too, imo...
But that's the cool thing with the Byrds - the blending of voices, each one with its own personality. My wet dream for a band line-up would be something like Jefferson Airplane - at least three singers and songwriters. Live in a house, have a few dogs... try grow a beard...

Jorgen, I have similar dreams actually
I lived in Nashville between 1998-2001, that's the only time, I came close to realize that dream.
I was playing and writing with talented people.
Right now, I'm back in Clemson, a small college town.
Everytime I start a band and it starts to sound good, people graduate and leave.
Tonight, I'm going to play with a band and I don't even know, who will be the drummer.
I can't expect the guys to harmonize, I'm glad, it gets me out of the house, but musicwise, I'm in a desert right now.

Listening...
I like it. That's an understatement.
Thoughts...
1) I'm imagining that you brought George Harrison back to life and did a collab with him. I see the Byrds mentioned. I can see that as well. Especially re McGuinn's soaring guitar sound.
2) The low end on this has a remarkable expressive impact.
BTW I'm listening to the new mix. This: http://burakmusic.com/burakeski/sarkilar/nothingnew.mp3
I also heard the original mix.
Edit: and re the ending, it sounds like it's meant to pull the listener into something new with a different musical feel. Is there a part 2?

Damn!!! That's so much better. Wow!!!
BUT... There is some toms that disturbs me. I re-listen the first version, but there's the toms not so loud, but still wrong in my ears.
Besides from that it's Billboard to me!!!

I've always liked your songs and been a supporter.
Once the song kicks in it feels like I lose the drums a bit. I'm listening on a crappy system though. Nice work once again.

I hadn't noticed this but I agree. A bit like some of the Norman Blake songs.
Burak, the new mix you posted sounds great on my end. It definitely sounds more broadened or open.

Thanks everyone.
I tried to make it sound like a Jeff Lynne production
Tom Petty, George Harrison influenced me a lot.
I haven't thought about part 2, but now it's an interesting idea
Everyone pretty much agrees that the ending is not working.
Any suggestions?
Should I make a fade out? Or change the guitar solo, or play another instrument solo piano or harmonica?
BTW in this way, I checked out Teenage Fanclub, I didn't know them.
I recognized one song from them, after listening their hits.
A great find for me

I was expecting a big final sustained guitar note to go out with. Not a fade. A big fat slightly tremeloed finale.
Just listened to it again. Really nice song.

I'll check, if I can edit one in without playing the whole solo.
I think, I have 3-4 alternate solos, maybe I'll find, that part from them and plant it to the end.
Digital realm makes me lazy
