Ok i solved it i think

It was something to do with Properties - General - Paths - store all peak caches, i've selected that and put it into a new folder

Hello - there are a couple of options in the preferences.

1.

- which will create one folder called 'peaks' in with your media files to store all the reapeak files, this will at least keep them separate from your samples

2.

- which will store all peak files in one place. I have never used this option but I guess that it will also store peak files for your projects here too (can anyone confirm this?).

In any case, it's enough for me to keep them grouped using the first option..that way my projects peak files are stored relative to my project.

Keep in mind read, you can delete all those peak files if you want. Reaper will just rebuild them if you open them again.

Reviving this thread; especially today, with sample managers that are able to detect changes in sample folders and retrig folder analysis, the automatic creation of .reapeaks file in the same folder as the source file when browsing files with media explorer is quite annoying.

I suggest specific options should be available to allow avoiding .reapeaks creation when in media explorer and/or a using a different path for .reapeaks created within media explorer.

Thanks,
Mario

Reply to myself.

I see a general-> paths option has been added in the meanwhile (who knows when...) to store .reapeaks files in an alternate path when source files are on specific folders.

Wonderful, testing it

This works a treat. Makes media window so much easier to navigate. Repeaks are still there, just hidden. Thanks very much.
