Default Default Commala, new theme

https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1490/De...reaperthemezip

Edit: Link above goes to Default Commala 3

Hey, I finished up the mod of Lerian's Default Analog. A lot of work went into this. The devil is in the details

Try it out, post some screens of your projects. Hope you find it inspiring. Let me know if there is anything amiss.

Changes include:

- new pngs for automation modes on black and silver MCP layouts!
- track and mixer names are color-coded and closely match items in arrange view
- FX buttons are Default green
- disabled FX buttons are a new shade of red
- meters are green, meter backgrounds have been cleaned up and are more uniform across layouts
- MCP FX instances are given back their 3d look from Default
- TCP and MCP track icon backgrounds are flattened
- TCP record-arm buttons have been desaturated

- transport record buttons are desaturated
- transport readout has glass-like reflective effect
- transport play, pause, etc are Default green
- horizontal fader caps have been edited for correct lighting
- new scrollbars adapted from Lamda's Spin theme
- RADO toolbar icons included

- MIDI editor and inline MIDI editor have matching color assignments in Theme Editor
- MIDI velocity colors are set with midi_note_colormap.png - amber is low, yellow is high velocity
- tab pngs altered
- numerous other details adjusted or fixed

Cheers.

Is the theme pointing to the correct directory for the images? In Preferences -> Appearance -> Theme Editor

I must have packaged it wrong. This is the first time I've uploaded something to the stash.

You named the file .ReaperTheme (which are what just the internal color preferences are extended as), when the package as a whole should use .ReaperThemeZip

Ah, I reuploaded the file on Stash several times, but it seems that only replaces the contents of the file, and not the file itself. I had to delete the upload entirely and post the file correctly from the get go.

Hopefully that's working now...

I uploaded a variant on this theme called Default_Commala_unthemed_OS to the stash. Use this theme if you don't have a darkly themed OS like Adobulated for Windows. It will make the various project windows more cohesive, if a little blinding.

https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1360/De...ReaperThemeZip

Here's a comparison using the Adobulated Windows theme and Default Commala, for a lark.

But really we should thank Lerian for the black layouts in the first place. They're my faves.

Can anyone offer any insight on this, I'm trying to get the Adobulated theme but all the links in the deviant art page end up with a file that get spat out by my antivirus (ClamSentinel) with: ADOBULATED.7Z: Win.Trojan.Firewallbypass-71 FOUND

Is this a false positive or is it a virus?

I thought all the links were stale?

In the end I downloaded the theme from here:

http://www.ubers.org/Thread-How-to-i...indows-7-Theme

Had to register first but that's ok.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean? Are you talking about the MCP I/O button changing to "Input FX" when the track is armed?

You're right, that information is not displayed on several of the MCP layouts in any Default theme. But "Large," "Big Meter" and "Sidebar" all have it.

I usually use "Large" layout.

I ussualy used small tracks with arrange ala ACID PRO, and those information should be showered by default...I guess...(more if you ar using a big mixer layout, but with small track layout too)

Yes, if you want it displayed then this theme won't do that for small MCP layouts.

But you can access the track input and monitoring settings by right clicking on the track meter. You probably knew that already.

BTW, I liked Reaborn Vidalsh, your theme mod. It's well done, I always thought.

I've just uploaded a new version of the mod with a series of small revisions. A few quirks have been ironed out.

Haven't actually gotten around to testing Abobulated myself, but I collected the files in anticipation.

Neither MS Security essentials nor Malwarebytes take issue with the files from ubers.org but I did find a post on the devient arts pages that makes one wonder - http://tinyurl.com/mjv6n3k

And there is this statement: Ever since Microsoft introduced the theming engine in Windows XP, they don’t allow visual styles (themes) which are not digitally signed by themselves to be used.

The workaround seems to be to use a bit of software that relaxes Windows theme signature requirements to enable third-party customization.

Perhaps that is what your AV is indicating.

Regardless, I'll be careful when I apply the changes.

you only needs:

set mcp.recinput ?recarm [1 242 82 13 0 1 0 1] [0]
set mcp.recinput.color ?recarm [255 255 150]
set mcp.recinput.margin [14 1 15 0 0.5]

in each layout...small too...

in the first line, 242 shows just the vertical possition and 82 the width...you can post those information in each armed track as you like...

lately I´ve not time to try...

I love into this theme to can put silver tracks wit vertical meter, mixer tracks in black default...it´s shows really pretty for my taste...

when I´ll get a time I´ll do someting for your ?recarm tracks better...

actually the number track space not seems to be the best place to put record information...

in the latest default themes I ussualy sacrifice the name track for this in armed records...I thing is a better place to put....

Any chance of getting a version without the toolbar icons? Currently replaces all the ones I've worked so hard on, but I really really love the images for this theme. The MCP sidebar layout is a must have!

Really love the MCP with the sidebar, and the TCP with the vertical VU's. This is perfect, I just want to be able to keep my own icons.
