Default ChebyshevFilter (24db LP,HP,BP)

Hello,

Ported the Chebyshev filter from http://www.musicdsp.org today
I think I've started to understand more from the math behind the transformations.

This one is Type1 - a classic filter model like the Moog.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chebyshev_filter

- Mono/Stereo processing
- 24db
- LP, HP, BP modes (HP, BP are just subtractions from the LP algorithm)
- Limiter. You can drive your signal into it.
- "Passband ripple" amount control. Higher values may add a lot of resonance!!! It will produce 2 more noticeable peaks at the passband (from the ripple) - interesting results for those housemusic sweeps maybe. Unlike the Moog filter the overall volume will not drop to compensate for the resonance.

Fixes:
- Clipping produced some unwanted effects.

tbd:

- oversampling
- parameter interpolation (cutoff has some glitches when moving slider). Will be looking into this shortly!

unzip, place "cheby24db" file in Reaper/Effects folder.

Enjoy

these are cool, would be good to have them included in main distro when they're done!

I wouldn't mind

Planning to write more actually (mostly modeled ones)! So when the list is ready I will pack them up.
But only if people like the plugins .

Will add limiter-off switch + mono/stereo for this filter bit later.

The filters are great.
Thanks for these, and definitely add the rest.

regarding different filter types, have a look at Electri-Q for some inspiration:

Real nice work liteon... Congratulations!

I'd like to know if you're planning on adding these two filter types (mogg & Cheby) on just one JS? Maybe you're going to add more filter types in the future (for example, Butterworth's). That way we can change all filters in just one JS. Thanks for this, really appreciated!

Cheers men, appreciated!

I'll be looking into butterworth next week actually! Its a challenge. Also I've found some nice top-end EQ formulas... :-) hehe

Regarding combination of filters in one JS. Technically its no problem at all but it would be more efficient to load two instances (one moog, one cheby) than having them in one JS loaded 2 times (moog+cheby [moog], moog+cheby [cheby]) or explained in another way the filters will require bit more CPU power.
I'm willing to do that. But as I've said it will be less efficent CPU wise. And with peeps with old computers like me plugin efficiency does count.

They've released these filters with Reaper 2.53 before the update for this one I've also made another one yesterday - rbjstereofilter

Here is the update for this one:

- mono/stereo control
- limiter on/off switch

Thanks for the new updates and new filter type. I just asked you to add all filters to just one JS so we can choose one of them (not two, why would we want to add 2 filters type?). I mean, If I want to cut some lows on my vocals I go testing between filters which one fits better on them. Thanks again for all your effort, really appreciated.

Will probably make more filters and sort em up in some sort of a "filter-bank" or something. So that you can switch between filters...
I can hear the terrible "pop" b2b "click" when switching from "here" tho... lol

Biggest problem is time as always.

I used this one and one of your others, hit the spot.

Liteon

Your work is seriously appreciated -- these plugins sound awesome

I'm looking forwards to the top-end EQ model!! I'm complete EQ adict. If it's as good as your filters it's going to get used a hell of a lot i think.
