Default VST-Plugin is inserted in offline-state

Immediately after inserting a vst-plugin it is shown in offline-state (shown in red).
There is no chance to switch this plugin to online state (e.g.: Ctrl+Shift+Click)

- This problem exists with 3rd party- and also reaper internal plugins (ReaComp)
- It is project dependend which plugins dont't work.
e.g. Reaper Project A - Plugin A works - plugin B works not.
Reaper Project B - Plugin A works not - plugin B works
- The bigger the project, the more plugins are affected.
It can be that a plugin that works yesterday in Project A Version N, dont work tomorrow in Project A Version N+1
- Around 10%-20% of my plugins are affected
- All plugins are installed correct. They can be used in 'Ableton Live' without problems.
- If a plugin can't be used within a project, it also can't be used in a new project-tab.
But it can be used in a fresh reaper project.
- Same problem exist with TakeFX

I think your reaper-vstplugins.ini file is broken. Try to recreate the plugins list. Go to Options->Preferences->VST and Click "Clear cache/re-scan" button.

Default Problem not solved

"Clear cache/re-scan" has no effect.
The problem still exists.

Default Sample Project

I've added a sample project named 'Ebbe 64' here.
On the screenshot 'Ebbe Load Message.jpg' you can see that every single vst-plugin on track 81 are not available after loading.

I also added a smaller project named 'Test'.
On screenshot 'Problem Test-project.png' you can see that on ...
- track 1 'ReaPitch' is not available
- track 2 'ReaPitch' is available.

It is not possible to bring 'ReaPitch' to online state at track 1.

Did you install the ReaPlugs VST Pack,which you don't need when working with Reaper? And check your VST Path in reaper again. Is Ableton running in the Background?

It's really strange, because your project files don't have date from these offline plugins. Could you please post your reaper-vstplugins.ini file? When this issue has started?

Default Additional Info

@sisaso
- I don't have installed a separate 'ReaPlugs Pack'
- What means 'Ableton running in background' ?
I use Ableton and Reaper always as a standalone application.
I never used this DAW's in a master slave relationship.

@vitalker
- I try using only 64 bit plugs.
The 'reaper-vstplugins64.ini' is attached
The 'reaper-vstplugins.ini' don't exist

@vitalker
This issue has started at least 2 years ago.
In the meantime I switched to a new computer system and a new operation system.

Have you tried to install clean version, export old configuration and import it to this clean version?

Ok, maybe try to write a bug report and send it to support@cockos.com

i also get this problem pretty frequently. it normally only happens on bigger projects and i can always close reaper, open it up again, and instantly open the plugin that would previously open in the offline state.

It not Reaper's issue, but Windows' one. If you will use plug-ins by bridge, there will no be such a problem.

What do you mean by "use plug-ins by bridge"? I only use 64 bit plugins so none of them are bridged if that is what you are saying.

But you can use them as dedicated processes.

I am having the same issue. But I'm on a mac. Did anyone solve this issue? I started reinstalling Reaper, the plugins, resetting the configuration, empty cache and re-scanning plugins...

I'm at the end of my wisdom. Hope somebody has some advice
