Default Mod wheel transmitting wrong cc...

Never happened this before.
It's only on track 2 that mod wheel is controlling channel volume??!! All other tracks are fine and mod wheel corresponding to cc1. Only track two cc7 is affected even when any other track is armed. It has become default value any time I load up Reaper.
What's gone wrong? Please help me sorting it out.
Many thanks.

Thank you.
I wasn't sure how mod wheel was assigned automatically so what I did was import an earlier configuration which I habitually saved. Issue was solved but led to more problems and the most painful was scanning vsts which would freeze on many plugins. However, now sorted out and all good. Thanks for your help though which gave me idea of what's going on.
