Default Metronome doesn't work properly

Hi,

I am recording a new song with Reaper today, but I think there is a problem with the metronome.
My friend had been trying to record piano parts, and while he's playing he's perfectly on the beat, but when we play it back the metronome is way slower than the piano and off beat. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Do I have to change some setting maybe?
Really anyone can help us out, thanks

Hey Lotte - sounds weird, but would be good to have some additional information. Is it a VSTi piano played via a MIDI keyboard or is it actual audio you're recording? Also, are you using ASIO drivers for your audio interface?

Hi,
Thank you. We are using PA (mixing panel) and recording the sound of the real keyboard to record.
We use WaveOut because when we want to change it to ASIO, it says there can't be found any drivers.
The mixing panel is connected with a USB cable to the laptop.
