Default Reaper virtual instruments

Just a quick question.

I downloaded a drum kit free which is pretty good and watched a vid online with regards on how to use it (MT power drumkit)
So when adding each drum etc to the track he inserted I think it was reasampleOmatic5000 to insert the sounds into from mt power.

My question is, i'm not to sure as to what each VI is for, are there certain ones for certain sounds i.e the above for drums or can any of the pre-packaged VI's be used to maniplulate sounds....i.e reasyndr or reasynth, sony range wah wah etc, or is it just a case of each one can have different effects on the sound depending on what you want to do with it?

thanks

is it this one?

http://www.powerdrumkit.com/support.htm

I downloaded this one and tried it. Was a cinch

insert>virtual instrument on new track

then select yes for multi out or no for stereo (multi out allows for mixing in reaper)

if you do multi out just go to the MT Mixer GUI and set which output for each drum piece and signal will show up in reaper on those seperate tracks.

I've never used reasamplomatic but on this kit i dont think you would need to for basic use.

Wow! Thanks for making me aware of this very cool free set. This is ideal for someone like me that has always found any instrument easy to pick up, but played like a gorilla with dyslexia any time I tried to park my butt behind a kit.
