Default Help with playing music

I'm not exactly sure how to present this question but I'll try.
I use Reaper to record and play it back through an XR 18 using Xair Edit on a laptop and store everything on an external drive. No problems here.
I also store my everyday, store bought music on this external drive.
I have an event coming up in which I want to play both sources of music, my stuff recorded with Reaper and the store bought music.
I know how to playback the recorded stuff via Reaper/Xair Edit. But how would I route the store bought music so that I could play both sources? I usually use Media Player to play the regular stuff.
I'm sure it's possible but I don't know how.
Help please,
Thanks,
Don?....

You could just drag and drop the .WAV files into Reaper and play them that way.

It should be the exact same thing...

Are you maybe having issues with format restrictions with some media player?

If your purchased media is in FLAC files and your own mixes/masters are in FLAC files, you would use your favorite media player and load up the files (make playlists and do whatever you do).

The big faux pas that I'm aware of is Apple disabling FLAC playback on iTunes in order to try pushing their ALAC version. So... if you're stubborn about using iTunes, you need to convert your files to ALAC (Apple lossless) or go lossy with mp3 or AAC.

Or you can use Reaper as a media player. Kind of clunky with too many controls for a media player but of course it works. So you'd just drag/drop any store bought files into a track just like you would your own mixes/masters.

Does that address your question?

And of course you could have the purchased files all cued up in a separate project tab all ready sequenced...

Yep. When I say Reaper would be clunky for a media player, I mean it would be like driving a semi truck a block to the corner store. Reaper of course would be a bionic media player!

Just get something like winamp or vlc, cue all the other material in it and set its preferences to the interface.
