I have no experience with so can't comment on the 18i20 but i do own a 1818vsl.

I bought the 1818vsl specifically for using to play live with my 3 piece band
Accoustic guitar, bass & drums and it does the job well enough.

I've done at least a dozen gigs with it and it did drop the driver once but it only took a few minuites to get back up and running.

I haven't recorded anything with it so i don't know good the pres sound for recording but i think they would do a perfectly fine job if not pushed too hard, they sound great for live use.

I went with the 1818vsl over the 18i20 because i am only using it for live use and the studio live software/driver has the gate, EQ, compression, reverb & delay that can be used for monotoring or recording purposes, and while it could be improved it gets the job done.

I think if / when presonus update the driver it will be perfect for what i'm using it for.

hth's
cheers

Have used my Scarlett 18i20 for two days, so far so good.
Also have the Forte and the mic pre ISA Two.
Today I will compare mic preamps.

That would be great, seeing a comparison between tbe 18i20, and dedicated outboard pres. Looking forward to what you think
Peace, Keith

I seem to have accidentally done something to turn off the master out in Reaper, it's there, and I can add tracks, but I get no signal to the Master, and I'm not getting any signal to DAW1 &2 in mixcontrol? Normally, no matter what I input, be it a mic, keyboard, or CD, I got a signal to 17& 18, DAW 1&2? Now nothing inputting to DAW 1 &2? Is there a way to reset Reapers default i/o settings, without losing other info like added plugins? This one is really making me worry, as I'm used to getting the DAW 1&2 meter going in pretty much any situation, and woosh, gone, nada!

Please chime in if you know what I've done
Thanks, Keith
