Default My First Composition in Reaper

It's also my first attempt at composition period, so please excuse its simplicity. I made this song as potential BGM for a mobile game, so it's intended to loop (which explains the way the song ends) and it's written using only synths (Alchemy, to be precise). I'd love to hear your thoughts, especially on ways I can improve since I'm very new to this and have much to learn. Thanks!

yes, for a game .... maybe.

but Alchemy? sounds like the Microsoft midi-synth ... so it is mixed? I guess not. sounds very cheap to me, all in all, like a one-man-keyboardist-entertainer with a Yamaha-something keyboard from the early 80s. sorry, but for me it lacks everything a piece of music should have.

haha yeah, I can see that. It isn't mixed, as I'm still learning about that stuff. Any suggestions on where I can go to learn?

Sounds pretty cheesy to me.

Try some other synths, plenty of fat sounding freeware out there (synth1 and minimogue spring to mind).

Try layering different sounds to get a fatter, more expensive vibe.

Check out tutorials on using compression (google, youtube).
