Default Need ears for 8 Bit / Punk project (bass)

Hi, a few months ago I put a similar post that allowed me to get great advices for the drum sound of my project so now I'm back for the BASS.
Please listen to the clips here:

I'd like to have both the punch of punk bass and the recognizable triangle wave of 8bit music.
Something between this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hB0-qopJyz4
and this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmUu4toKJCA
for example!

How can I improve the bass sound? Any frequency missing (I don't have studio monitors)?

(My project consists of playing punkish guitar and singing live but trying to have other instruments on backup tracks with a 8 bit (old videogame) sound.
Any comment will help me improve anyway since I'm a beginner, thank you!)

I'm listening to the sample with my Sennheiser HD280s. They tend to clean up the low end a little, but the bass sounds pretty good to me.

I'm not sure what you're after, but if you want to have some chiptune vibe you could maybe put some fuzz on the bass, in parallel or not.
I think using a synth as a square wave bass instead of a real bass could get you closer to that effect.
Maybe slapping a bitcrusher on it could work, but honestly I've never tried it on bass.
In Reaper there are a couple of JS plugins that could be useful to you like Waveshaping Distortion, Paranoia Mangler and Distortion (fuzz).

Anyway, this is the craziest project I've heard of in a while .
I strongly suggest you check out these guys if you're into that stuff:

Yes, it's a pity. Mostly one has to experiment with those but for some there's info on the forum.

I updated the tracks in the link.
In my opinion one of the 2 tracks has a much better bass sound with fuller low frequencies now.

But I hope I can get more comments please so that I'm sure I'm not doing it wrong!

I tried a lot of js, and a lot of them are tosh, and even after checing hem out several time, they never sound good, so don't worry about it.

Anyway, just layer bass guitar with triangle wave.

Oh I forget to mention it but the bass is originally a triangle wave, not a real bass.

I used the YMCK 8bit triangle wave:
http://www.ymck.net/en/download/magical8bitplug/

with the FAMISYNTH to complete the frequencies:

and put it in this IGNITE bass amp:
