Default I Made a Reflexion Filter

Thought I'd post this in case some of you were thinking about buying one. I made this from a couple of paint grids, some metal straps, a few machine bolts, two auralux panels I had lying around, and a little hot glue. Oh yeah - and two hose clamps.

The basic idea came from this video and I modified a few things.

What do you plan on using it for?? External audio processing or vocals, ect?

Looks like fun. I want to make an impulse wood box to put old speakers and mic's in, ect.

I've posted this over the last couple of years, but here's my larger version.
You can get creative about what you put behind it (doubled blankets, duvets, rockwool, etc.)
Build two sets and you can make a full booth.

Xzyt - I'll use it for tracking vox and any mono instrumentation.

Tim - I remember those plans very well and seriously considered them at one time. Great design! But, I work in a single room for both tracking and mixing so I went more with room treatment. Space is also an issue so I thought I'd give this a try for tracking. It's small and does not require storage - just set it to the side. Between this and the room treatment I'm thinking I should be set.

Nice job! been thinking about buying one of those.

I dont have the auralax panels but I do have some of that 2" thick memory foam. Think I'll take your design and have go.

Thanks for sharing!!

I have a "real" one, but it looks much like yours!!

I find that if I record say a singer with a guitar, it's useful to put a piece on the bottom as well to keep bleed to a minimum!

But, as a simple portable "vocal booth", where space is at a premium (like here!!), then they work very well, and keep any room interference out of the way.

Enjoy it, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.
