Default Mystery Instrument

Hey all

I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this but I've got just a very quick question for anyone who can help!?

I'm intrigued as to know what this lead instrument / synth is in the following sections of these songs:

01:11 - 01:24
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqGUM1TrJgk

04:20-End
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8566UtalG_o

To me it sounds like a synth but with a very distinct sound (I've heard it in some other songs) So I'm wondering if there's a special name for it or a VST with a patch etc etc ?

Many thanks in advance!

Check out my tunes and download them for FREE http://stevetyssen.bandcamp.com

I really like Devendra Banhart.

The videos aren't playing for me. They aren't blocked, they just are stuck on the first frame. idk. maybe my computer is stupid.

are you on soundcloud? We should be soundcloud friends. I suspect anyone who like banhart may possibly make good music.

Hey Cosmic! I'm wondering if you could give me a rough list of settings to achieve this sound? I'm using Arturia Minimoog VST

Thanks!

I may not be Cosmic, but I've just had a little play with my Minimogue (it's free).

Start with a soft flutey sorta lead preset.

Filter contour attack needs to be slow for that 'fade-in' effect.

Filter cutoff to zero, contour amount damn close to zero, emphasis to taste.

Two oscillators on. Play with the waveforms - more sine than saw (avoid the square), pull back the overdrives.

Delay level up maybe halfway, sync on, maybe 1/8, 2x, plenty of feedback.

HTH

How very rude of me!

Morgon's post, which inspired all this silliness, appears to have gone missing. If a moderator has seen fit to delete it, it might be more appropriate to delete everything that follows it as well, no?
