Chorder VST?
I know some basic aspects of music theory, but heavy rooted on how I play bass. Thus, I'm very lazy at chord construction (Know enough to follow my guitarist, but not enough to write my own guitar lines), so I thought some kind of MIDI chorder could help me. I saw some videos of Xfer's Cthuluh and liked how it worked, but I could use some recommendations.
- I want a chorder; Cthuluh is also an arp, but arp functions aren't a must
- I also like how Cubase chord tracks work, I don't know if there is something that would allow me to just write the chord
- If it includes some kind of "strumming" function so that it plays nicely with guitar VSTs, that's a winner
- I don't need a full songwriting suite like Liquid Notes, I just want help with the chords
So far I'm considering:
- Cthuluh (at 40 bucks, the price is just right, difficult to ignore)
- a combination of plugins from the Piz midi collection.

Reaper comes with a 'Chord' function (which may or may not be the same thing as a chorder...I have no idea).
Go to MIDI editor...at the bottom check 'key snap'...next to the actual key is the key type...you can import scales and there is a chord function at the top 'o the list...it lets you fill in MIDI chords without having to know the notes of the chord...very useful.
Enjoy!

Here's another good option...and it's free! Tonespace by mucoder.

You mentioned that you don't need the arp function, but just in case...Hypercyclic by mucoder. Also free!

I really like this one - simple and efficient, but can go deep. It also has a guitar fingerboard option, if needed (a must-have for me!).

Really interesting, as I see it, I select my scale or chord, and insert my triads or whatever while always being on key. Interesting and useful

Note for anyone reading -> the reascale file is just for allowing the plugin to start (you can use a custom reascale file). Afterwards, you can set an option for the plugin to sync with the current keysnap settings
