one thing I miss a lot:

+ SPLIT main arrange window in two horizontal windows... to be able to have some tracks always visible while scrolling in the other one.

+ multiple Mixer windows(or at least two) with different visibility tracks and layouts on each one.

+ dockable single FX windows(like floating FX windows), not only the full chain

- The ability to dock toolbars / buttons in an un-docked mixer - will allow me to make custom mix panels.
Possibility to dock vst effects windows in mixer to make a console maybe? Wishful thinking.
- Ability to add buttons to tracks in tcp.
- split screen / dual lane tcp
- ongoing midi refinements for multi instrument composition.
- aid for collaborative working

Prob can think of some other things.

Max/Msp Integration (and even Pure Data if poss!)
Better Midi and audio editing without the need to switch to an external editor.

vst3 support...

standard images for toolbar icons...

midi editor open allways complete horizontal size still docked...

pencil to real waves edit...

erase tool ala acid...

actions buttons in tracks...

import acid projects? (individual wish for my old productions)

1.ARA
2.Global groove/Shuffle.
3.Preview Media Explorer via a track...for previewing with fx.

If we would have ARA.
Then I would love a function where I designate a region , give it a Scale like A# Minor and and samples automatically conform to that scale.

1) pre-/post-recording (aka 'skip-back sampling' aka 'retrospective record')
2) mono tracks
3) waveform-alignment (Vocalign like feature)

I think the issue got misslabeled, should be 'duplicate' (of existing request).

I'd kind of like to see a simplified mixer from the factory...one that doesn't default to 'bigger mixer screen = more aux sends and I/O"... Having the option to limit what's on the screen without having to become proficient in yet another application (WALTER?) would be a real selling point, IMO...

1- MIDI Effects (MFX);
2- Possibility of opening/editing sysex (system exclusive) files in MIDI Editor and/or ReaControlMIDI;
3- Possibility of send Metronome sounds (not the source click) not only for physical hardware outputs, but also for tracks/buses.

imo the best additions will be a

1. Step sequencer like in Sonar X2.
This would open up a whole new user base for Reaper.

2. VCA groups.

3. Maybe a score editor or at least a midi to score as a first step.

4. Better comping.

5. VST3

6. Integrated melodyne for a higher priced Reaper addition.

7. Less right click options.

Below an image of Sonar X2 step sequencer.

Default Suffixing the vst window

Hi All,
How are you dealing with monitoring the automation on 3 tracks with the same EQ vst?
After 2 seconds i forget what window is from what track.

Could it be that each vst window would be suffixed with the track number?
Was this already requested?

Thank you,

9. Full native DDP support
10.EBU R128 Functions

I also would love to see render song tagging support for all popular formats. And destructive editing so reaper can be used for spectrum cleaning.

This would take reaper one more step closer to one of the go to mastering programs.

Seems like you need to know logic to understand what you are asking for..?

Can you elaborate on what this feature is.

Thank you

What many on the thread said:

1. Vocalign-like feature
2. VST3 support
3. ARA support
4. Better/Improved MIDI
5. Fix the thing with the metering in plugins when ADC is working, every time I start using plugins with longer delay the metering on all of the plugins start to go ahead of the sound, not too much ahead but it goes ahead. I read here somewhere that it is due of ADC, but it's not like that in other DAW's, I hope that thing will not be neglected.
6. VCA Groups (But I can live without them)
7. (Optional) . A pencil kinda tool to fix the glitches on the audio waveforms when they occur.
8. Group folders to the right (like we have group folders to the left) possibility.

With all of this stuff, Reaper would become my ultimate DAW

EDIT: One more to me important thing would be visual feedback for Auto Trim function. Dynamic Split Items doesn't work for me when it comes to stripping silence

2., 3., 6. and 7. already exist.

5. won't happen because all editing in Reaper is non-destructive by design.

i'm against gui improvements or better native plugins, you can do this by yourself and there are enough plugins out there, reaper is not about looking sexy or giving you high quality plugins, even though some of them coming with it sound very good.. to me reaper is about workflow -- but -- MIDI EDITING is reapers weak point, very weak, to be honest, i think it's a real mess, it completely subverts the whole point and is totally against reapers concept

i do not understand why this has not been improved, and i wonder if they ever will do
