Default Control Surface Modes

Having trouble with my control surface...
It's not being recognized by reaper and there are no options for me to select under control surface modes in the preferences. It's just blank.
This could be an issue with my control surface but it seems to be working fine as an audio interface and had been working fine as a control surface in the past.
Is there a program folder for control surface modes hidden somewhere?

Just looking for some ideas i feel like I've tried what i know so far.

Thanks.

Not all control surfaces have their own special modes, many just use HUI protocol.

Can you see the device in the MIDI Devices list?

It would also help to know the name of the device

Thanks for the reply.

I was using HUI or Mackie mode previously and it was working.
Neither of those modes are now an option in my control surface preferences.
It's Tascam 1884 and yes it does show in midi device.

Not sure and can't check atm but could it be that the control surface options are a dedicated tickbox during install ? (that was unticked during your last install for some reason)

Maybe reinstall (could be done as a portable test-install) and check that ?
