Default DAW Neve 5088 Pro theme

Something new I am working on...still in prototype form. The idea is based on a NEVE 5088, which was an incredible 24 channel mixer. I hope to have this done and posted soon.

I tend to prefer the darker themes. But I've got to admit, Cinci, this is beautiful. Nice work.

@ Faderjockey

Don't get me wrong, it still is! I was referring to the particular model I knew at one time. That's all...

Thank you very much! I'm really enjoying the challenge of this design, and hoping it will be one of my best yet...we'll see. (~:

Looks really good.

Are you going to give the option to go to a dark version of this too?Because that would look good too,I'm pretty sure.

Yes, there are 3 variations...the light, mid, and dark paneled versions. But I don't want to give away too much yet!

I have been hoping for something like this. Seems all the Reaper themes are soooo... toooo dark. I need one that's lighter and when I choose a color for the track... it really IS that color.

Lord, please don't let this theme go to the wayside like so many other great potential one's!

Looks great! Having the different versions is a great idea. I personally find very bright themes and very dark themes to be fatiguing in different ways. I usually prefer something in the middle, but slightly on the darker side.

Also, I've seen a few themes that i've really liked but found to be unusable simply for the fact that they omit the track i/o's. To me that is pretty critical and I simply cannot use a theme if I cannot easily see the inputs and outputs of the track in both the TCP & MCP. Maybe this isn't an issue for other people, but it is pretty important for me.

Too white for me but looks great anyway. Great job. keep going.

Now that sounds better.

I was kicking around the idea of a theme based on Imperial but with the 8014 looks, this other Neve is less appealing to the eye to me but looks cool too.

Default Going dark...

First, let me say thank you to everyone on the positive responses to this theme series idea. I greatly appreciate it! (~:

Secondly, I have updated the screenshot to show the current progression of this "light" version

Now as I mentioned before, there are 3 variations of these NEVE themes I'm working on. So with that, here is a preview of the "dark" version...

How did you separate the Aux channels like that? Having the submixes grouped, the Aux Subm in the middle, and the Aux's on the right with separating spaces? Is that just this theme or is that Reaper functionality?

That's something I came up with for most all of my themes...a project template design. Makes it more "real-world" for me...personal preference. I will be more than happy to share how with you if you like (just PM me).

Ain't those just track separator layouts (mcp_bg)?

No, there is more to it than that. It's also about creating separate track layouts for the different sections, and saving them as specific templates. Then they can be placed where needed, and use different strip/color schemes for easy visual reference (just like a real console).

Huh, Got it. Is this why these layouts don't show an extmixer? or is iut just this is an uncomplete previous mockup?

There is an extmixbg (below the meters/fx buttons), they are just not shown active in the screenshots.

Default how many faders on an 1920 x 1080 screen?

Hi
Your neve inspired console looks sweet, how many channels can you get up on a 1920 x 1080 screen?
I love the House of White Tie Imperial - but can only get 20 tracks onscreen - I really need 24.
I looking for help getting that theme modded.... or see how it goes with your theme

Thank you! It's in an "alpha" phase at the moment...quite a bit different from the early mockup preview above.

It's because I'm in the process of moving files to a different image host, to make it easier for me to edit and group my theme screenshots... No worries, as they will all be up by tomorrow. (~:
