Maybe. Ya it's probably stupid, but I didn't figure it out for a week. My cpu was running high than usual with less plugs etc. All my tracks are at 44.1. I assumed it was the plugs or something.
Then I switched my emu 0404 soundcard from 48 to 44.1 and the cpu went down to normal. Imagine my surprise.
Playing 44.1 at 48... soundcard tip....
