Default Randomly adjusting (Battery 3) samples for human variation

I want to make every clap's start time slightly different / random every time (in Battery 3). How can I do this? I imagine there's some plugin that can generate a random value (every beat, or what?) like say 1-5ms, and then I can link that value to the Battery 3 Sample Start Time.

How are other people doing this?

Suggestion: Add a track of "humans" clapping along with Battery. Either use it in conjunction, or eliminate the Battery track, afterwards.

Battery 3 has a humanize feature. I forget exactly where it is, but there is a slider somewhere that lets you choose how accurate it is.

It also has a way you can setup a number of claps to the same midi note, and it goes through them one by one, which will give you random sounding claps, rather than all the same sound bytes every time.

Round robin something rather. Look up triggering samples in battery 3 on YouTube or something like that.

I am not saying Reaper cannot do what you ask.

I only made a suggestion.

There is a function in the MIDI editor that is literally called Humanize. The details are in the manual. But you can select all the notes, go to the Edit dropdown menu, and select Humanize. You can change timing and velocity independently.

Also, dea-man's suggestion is a good one and shouldn't be overlooked.

Default Try this

JS:MIDI Velocity and Timing Humanizer

Don't make the mistake of overlooking JS 'plugins'
