Default New Song - High Noon

My latest vocal toon. It started as an electric 12-String bit, and grew into this whole song.

I call it "High Noon" at:

Cool tune Glennbo. I can't for the life of me think of what it reminds me of.. That's a good thing btw.. I was looking at the photos on your page and noticed the "Opening for Foghat" pic. May I ask which version of Foghat? :-) Funny story follows...

Opened for Foghat multiple times in the early 90's. One summer we opened for them then opened for them again 1 week later at another venue in another state. Funny thing, completely different set of people at the second gig, which turned into a discussion from both bands saying the other one wasn't the "Real" Foghat, those bastards.... RIP Lonesome Dave...

Thanks Karbo!

It was the "2005" version of Foghat, whoever they are. They covered the songs extremely well, although I knew they were *not* the Foghat I had on album. That same concert I played also had "War" and "Joan Jett". War was the best act there, and they rocked! My band mates and I had a really nice steak on the private deck out back with some spiked hair Joan Jett band members. We got the full access VIP backstage passes for that gig.

A few pics.

Sweet... I bet they were tight as a gnat's patootie, nice stage too in that pic. How's Joan looking these days? Haven't seen her up close since 92 or so in a club, the guitar player from a band called Saraya was touring with her (that boy can play)... You could tell she had spent many a year on the road at that time... WAR is great band and I have a CD or two buried somewhere 'round here...

That was a fun stage to play on. Foghat was on the money tight, and if you didn't know, you would think you were hearing the players from the records. Joan looked a bit shop worn. WAR was the act that impressed me the most. They weren't just tight, but they grooved together real well too.

Thanks Ed!

I've been playing around with my cocktail drum kit in the studio today. I added a SM58 snare mic to the existing Sennheiser MD421 on the kick and Rode NT 1 overhead. It's sounding way more balanced now with a snare mic.

Here's a sample I did earlier.
